Reconnecting 25 years after he was drafted to serve in the Vietnam war, Kate is happily married to her high school sweetheart . They have been married for 18 years and have 6 children and 11 grandchildren. In 2012, they moved back home to Arizona after 16 years in Southern California. Kate has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering Technology from Arizona State University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Chapman University and is currently working on a Doctorate in Education specializing in Christian Ministry

After spending 20 years at Honeywell as an Engineer, Technical Trainer and Training Center Manager, Kate went back to school to prepare for a second career in the field of education. She has over 11 years of experience in the education field as a public high school math teacher in California and taught everything from pre-Algebra to Math Analysis and was active on campus as a club adviser. She is currently a full-time faculty member at the College of Education at Grand Canyon University.

This is Kate’s second board term with Cherish Our Children International and she currently serves as Treasurer. Kate’s love for Christ and people is evident in all she does. She also serves on the Board of Twelve and is the Director of the California Winter Christian Ashram where she ministers to churches and is joyful to witness baptisms and minister to individuals in their spiritual growth.

In her spare time, she loves to travel with her husband who is a Le Cordon Bleu Master Chef.  She plays the guitar and sings in the Praise Band at her current church and has performed in many community theater plays and musicals.
