Stefan is a two year old boy, who is very intelligent and unbelievably cute. He speaks Serbian and has already acquired at least 20 English words. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth and his biological mother never wanted to see him.
Well, his luck has changed. He has recently been adopted by an American family and already calls his newly adopted parents Mom and Dad. We are certain he will have a bright future and will bring a lot of happiness to his mom and dad in years to come. Welcome to your new home Stefan. We love you! COCI stands for a world in which each child has the opportunity to live life fully and to make their unique contribution. We look forward to the contribution Stefan will make.
Up until April 2014, Cherish Our Children International helped facilitate adoptions of special needs children in Serbia. We are NOT an adoption agency, the Serbian Government handled all the adoption decisions. However, because of our extensive involvement with special needs children in Serbia, we were skilled at navigating the system smoothly, efficiently and cost effectively.
As of April 2014, the Serbian Government changed the country rules for adoption. We are navigating the system to see if there is an opportunity for us to continue this precious work. Until we sort through the new system, no further adoptions can be facilitated by COCI.
